1 Timothy 1:1-11

This is the first in a series of studies on Paul’s pastoral epistles written to Timothy whom Paul calls his beloved child in the LORD. We begin with a short description of their ministry together before launching into the text of 1 Timothy 1:1-11.

NOTE ABOUT the FEATURED IMAGE – I have been unable to find any information about the painting I chose as the featured image for this post. If anyone knows something about it, please let me know so I can either give proper attribution or remove it from the post if it violates someone’s copyright. Although the painting may not have been intended originally to represent Paul and Timothy, it seems to speak volumes about their ministry sharing both evangelistic triumphs and terrible hardships together. One can almost feel the bite of the cold wind in their faces as they press forward side-by-side toward their next destination. Look at the determination on their faces as another day of struggle together in service of the Gospel begins.

As an aid to our discussion of Jesus’ original twelve apostles, this table may be helpful.
