Ruth 3

We continue our study of Ruth with a detailed look at the Law of Moses and the traditions of ancient Israel with regard to inheritance and redemption of the land, and the preservation of the family names of men who died without sons. In this chapter we see the midnight conversation between Ruth and Boaz at his threshing floor.

Ruth 1:22-2

Ruth goes to glean in Boaz’ field at the beginning of the barley harvest that takes place right after Passover. We learn that Boaz was a close relative who might become Ruth’s redeemer under the Law of Moses.
