In our second study in Ruth, we take up the topic of gleaning provided in God’s Law as a provision for widows, orphans and sojourning strangers. Ruth goes to glean in Boaz’ field at the beginning of the barley harvest that takes place right after Passover. We learn that Boaz was a close relative who might become Ruth’s redeemer under the Law of Moses.
