Paul finishes his specific instructions for pastoral ministry with instructions to honor elders and for disciplining elders found guilty of transgressions. Paul charges Timothy against partiality and advises care and patience in choosing church servants. Paul finishes with instruction for bondservants to honor and respect their masters.

We continue our look at 1 Timothy with Paul’s advise to Timothy about assuming leadership at Ephesus. Then we examine Paul’s instructions about church provision for widows.

Then gives a brief Gospel summary he calls “The mystery of godliness.” He tnen gives a warning about the presence of false teachers, and concludes with an admonition for us to train ourselves in godliness.
